Heavy Rain expected for the entire day cancels clinic and 4 hour stadium rehearsal
After back and forth discussions, George Hopkins, director of the Cadets and CEO of Youth Education in the Arts, has asked Jack Gaylord, Jr, President of Drums Along the Waterfront, to cancel the clinic and rehearsal scheduled for Thursday, June 27th at Eric Community College and Ralph Wilson Stadium.
According to Hopkins, “the forecast if for rain from 10 am – 10 pm; close to three inches of rain is expected. We will be unable to do much of anything, clinic students will not have much of an experience, and the trade off here for this free event – the use of the stadium by the Cadets, looks improbable due severe weather.
Hopkins continued “ We apologize to schools who were planning to attend but, this was not going to be a good experience for anyone. If there was a storm or two forecast, that would be one thing, but we are looking at heavy rain, thunderstorms and flood warnings”
Some folks may be disappointed but this is we believe a sensible decision based upon the very real probability we will be unable to get outside on a very, very weather challenged day. We would not be able to conduct a reasonable clinic trapped inside limited space.
The Cadets will be in Buffalo August 5th, for the Tour of Champions show and their rehearsals on that day will be open to anyone who would like to attend at Orchard Park High School.
